About me

I am a Graphic Designer with over 10 years experience of designing for print and for web. I hold an MA and a BA in Graphic Design. My background includes a six year tenure as Senior Designer for a national charity where I produced all internal branding, marketing literature and magazines, leaflets and stationery. In my freelance work I have created websites, presentations, CD-roms and books.

Combining up-to-date knowledge with and many years experience of using the Adobe creative suite for both print and web (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Professional, Fireworks, Flash, Dreamweaver), I have 5 years successful trading as a freelance designer. I have built a reputation and trust among my clients for the timely delivery of their work on budget, either on or before agreed deadlines and displaying creative flair and excelling their expectations.

I can work with clients at all levels and I am a clear communicator. The recent teacher training has improved my presentation skills further and I have the ability to encourage others to share my view of a project or piece of work. I can influence but I prefer to think of it that I am able to lead people’s thinking to agree with my creative solutions.

I was involved in the start up of NC Brighton magazine (A successful and popular advertising-funded lifestyle magazine) where I was Art Director for two and a half years and was instrumental in the revamp of The Insight magazine in Brighton. I have rebranded and designed for AVT Connect, a Brighton based AV company who have expanded to provide E-Learning, websites, film and multimedia CD-roms.

I am highly self motivated and pride myself on doing a job well. I work hard. I am dedicated, determined and have a natural interest in people. My freelancing clients are people I regard as colleagues and friends. I am confident and diplomatic, I can connect with clients at every level. In my post at Cats Protection I negotiated with and presented work to the charity's Trustees, chief executive, departmental heads and my colleagues in the marketing department. As part of my freelance work with DTP overflow and Miracle Macs, I liaised with decision makers and top management within SheringPlough pharmaceuticals and the Bank of Bermuda. I have IT skills in a range of programmes, from design for print to web and coding in HTML, CSS and working with CMS.

In summary, I am enthusiastic, personable, capable and results driven. I strive for the best both in my own work and in others, for the benefit of my clients.
